Sustained Investigation

How do colors in nature effect my emotional state? I used reddish orange and green because these colors resonate with me the most. As a redhead, I've grown up knowing that my best color is green. Everything I could possibly own as a child was green. So, when I began to shoot at the beginning of the year, I knew I wanted to tie those colors together. I came to realize that when I was shooting, I was always drawn to the outdoors. Not only the tools I used throughout my investigation, but the seasonal colors and changes in the environment made me feel calm and relaxed about the upcoming changes of being a senior. My investigation began very broad, covering the topic of environmental change. After revising my question and directing my focus toward color contrast with nature rather than change, I was able to specify the objective I wanted to portray. At first, I only focused on appropriated imagery, but I later branched out to use Adobe Photoshop and its assets. This helped me generate blends, such as the reflection in the sky, as well as altering minor pieces of my collages. In addition, I started experimenting in the darkroom creating my 3 photograms of the flowers and leaves sprayed with color.
